Day 33: Good news and bad news

Good news and bad news in todays blog – I’ll start with the bad news and end on a good note.

Bad news? I’ve been really quite ill today and it’s showing signs of getting worse – it’s only a cold and I’m hoping that it only lasts a few days at most. The timing isn’t great either, which brings me onto the next piece of bad news – I’m going away for one night tomorrow, I am leaving early in the morning so wont be able to do a blog for Day 34. So Day 34 and Day 35 will both be posted on Sunday. I am going to try and get in some exercise at the hotel.

Now onto the good news? There’s a few pieces – the website is now getting 75+ unique visitors daily which is promising news. I’d obviously like the site to grow a lot more than that so I’m not going to rest on my laurels, but that’s a huge increase on Decembers traffice.

I have been able to post a few updates to the site, and am working on the Fitness and Nutrition parts of the site. I posted an in depth look at omega-3 fatty acids today – read it here. It look me all morning to write so hopefully it will be of use to people.

It inspired me to eat fish, so today I’ve had 1/2 can of mackerel and a very large portion of fresh haddock. The dinner I ate today was probably one of the healthiest I’ve ever eaten – fresh haddock, broccoli, mushrooms, peas and the superfood that is sweet potatoes.

I’m also concerned that my body might plateau – basically if you do the same thing continuously, your body gets used to it so the effects begin to fade. I’ve started doing a slightly different workout. I set a routine of 10 exercises with 10 reps each and cycled through the workout 3 times. Then I followed it with 50 jumping jacks. I did find it quite difficult because of my cold, but completed the routine. I also managed to brush away the snow from my back yard and did about 5 minutes of skipping!

11.30am: 1x banana
11.30am: Large glass of orange cordial
1.45pm: 1/2 can of tomatoes, 1/2 can of mackerel on toast
2.15pm: Small glass of blackcurrant cordial
2.45pm: Tea
3.15pm: Handful of grapes
3.30pm: Small glass of water
5.30pm: Large glass of blackcurrant cordial
6.00pm: Fresh smoked haddock, peas, broccoli, mushrooms and sweet potatoes.
7.30pm: Large glass of lemon cordial
