Day 43: Fit as a Scottish policeman
I have a friend who wants to become a policeman in Scotland and he tells me that he needs to score 9.2 on the bleep test as one of the tests to ensure he is fit enough. So today we both went down to the basketball courts and tried it, we got to 9.2 with some ease to be honest. Instead of carrying on, we played about 30 minutes of basketball. I find sports more motivating that just running as you can win a game of basketball and there is a challenge there. I’m not sure how far I would have got on the bleep test, but I didn’t want to tire myself out completely for basketball.
I haven’t been the healthiest of people today, I had a cheese twist from Tesco and a 1/3 of a can of riced pudding. It’s not too bad, because I managed to get in some good cardio today and a 360 workout. I need the fuel for my body to regenerate. I was thinking about staying up tonight to watch Raw, but that would mean I’d be up til 4am. It’s not a good idea considering your body does most of it’s recovery and rebuilding during sleep. If you’re wondering why I’d stay up, Bret Hart is scheduled to appear on Raw tonight as well as the Undertaker.
I knocked together a smoothie myself today which was made using an Asian pear, a handful of blackberries and a handful of grapes. It tasted nice, but was a little bitty – there was plenty of bits from the skins of the fruits, but it’s still a great way to get some of your fruit portions for the day. 3 portions of fruit in a glass and a half of smoothie.
