Hindu Press Up

Hindu Press Up

Muscles worked: Chest, Triceps, Forearms, Shoulders
Equipment Needed: None
Difficulty: 7/10 – Hard

The Hindu Press Up, also known as the Dand, is an exercise used in Indian martial arts - particularly Pehlwani. It is considerably more difficult than a standard press up and works your shoulder muscles (deltoids) more than the standard press up.

How to
1. Place your feet and hands on the floor with your bum in the air. Ensure your feet and arms are straight and are both a little wider than your shoulders. Similar to the starting position of a normal press up, but with your bum raised high in the air.
2. Bring your body forward towards your arms, bending your elbows and follow right through so that your chest moves from facing your legs to facing the floor and then facing in front of you in one movement.
3. Return to the starting position using the same movement, but in reverse.

Make it Harder!
Add an explosion at the end and go for a clap.
